We
have reached the end of our journey with the Psalmist. In the past few
weeks we have experienced the depths of despair, as those who should have been
supportive were not. We have seen elation and delight, when the Psalmist
knew the love and mercy of God. Finally we have seen the Psalmist’s
profound enunciation of the faith.
St
Francis of Assisi, the complier of the Psalms we have been using for this
study, knew what he was looking for when he chose the verses he did. The
Biblical Psalms are, and should always be, an integral part of a rich and
fulfilling prayer life.
Comment
Through
these past weeks, there have been challenges for us to face. Perhaps some
difficult questions we’d prefer to avoid, or not think about. Yet, our
faith is never static. It, like the Scriptures we know and love, moulds
us. When we get a new insight, or different perspective on what we have read,
or experienced previously; we should not be concerned. Rather we should
rejoice that we have a new awareness of the ever revealing nature of God.
